Finished a New Book

I had some free time this weekend, so I was able to finish a new law-related book. This one is something I should have started with...it's "Law for Dummies"!!! The title couldn't be more telling. If you are interested in law, yet have no prior knowledge, this is the book for you. I'd even recommend to law students. Heck, even practicing lawyers should keep a copy on hand for reference. Or to use as a tool for explaining things to clients. Definitely recommend the book.

Other than the book, I've been keeping busy with homework. Or should I call it funwork? ;p

P.S. Haven't spoken to the hippie in awhile. Hmm.

Railroaded

The Railroad Earth show was amazing! They played most of my favorite songs. Some guy managed to spill beer on my shirt though, which was not fun. Then he tried to wipe it up with a dirty rag that he found at the bar. It was not win.

Diaries

I started writing in a diary a few months ago. And I must say, it's a depressing practice. I think it's because I only tend to write in it when I'm angry or sad. If someone were to read my diary, I'd seem like a really negative person. Good thing my diary is protected by a tiny lock.

No Strings Attached

I saw the film "No Strings Attached." I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I do know that Ashton looked handsome and Natalie Portman looked pretty.

Other than the film, I haven't been up to much lately. Lots of schoolwork. Midterms are right around the corner.

I feel tired.

Railroad Earth at the Catalyst

The last three days have gone by quickly and stressfully. Luckily I have something to look forward to...a concert! I'm going to see Railroad Earth at the Catalyst (my favorite venue) on Friday January 28th. It should be tons of fun. I've been a fan of theirs for awhile, so it'll be nice to see them live. They definitely have a unique sound. Pretty folksy. Well here's a picture of the Catalyst:

And here's a link to Railroad Earth's site:

They are definitely worth checking out :)

Capitola

Horseback riding went well the other day. My friend's farm (which is really a stable with a garden) is situated in a small grassy valley. Only five minutes of riding brought us out of the valley and into a lightly wooded area. It was quite fun. And for the record, I didn't end up riding bareback.

Anyway, today I am going to Capitola! It's too nice of a day to not go to the beach.

Riding Bareback

I'm going to my friend's farm tomorrow to go horseback riding. I've been making puns about "riding bareback" ever since my friend first started riding. So apparently she's going to try to get me to actually ride without a saddle tomorrow. I'll let you guys know if my coccyx gets fractured.

Coffee and...

I had coffee with the hippie today. We went to a nice independent coffee shop that served overly expensive, bland coffee. But the conversation was very nice. In fact, I think the hippie is growing on me. At the least, I have a new best friend. In other news, I might be driving out to Vegas this weekend. :)

Turned In

The paper was turned in yesterday. Oh what a great feeling!

In other news, I bought some eye drops at the dollar store. I'll let you guys know if I get lead poisoning.

Bonfire

I worked on the paper all day. I'm about 65% done. I'd love to share it with all of you, but more than likely, someone would come along down the line and try to claim it as their own! So you'll just have to believe me that it's good. :)

In other news, I'm leaving for a bonfire in an hour. Time to get out my acoustic guitar and sweatshirt!

Paper Shmaper

Work today was fun. I shuffled papers. I answered phone calls. I made coffee. I had sex on the desk. Ah, the life of a secretary. (Okay, the last part was false) I actually do like my job, though. It just sounds boring when I blog about it...

I also started my paper today. Oh political science, how I <3 you! It's going pretty well though, and I'm hoping to finish before Monday. :) Later tonight I'm going to a bar. I need to blow off some steam. What will I drink? I don't know. But I know what I might drink...which brings me to...

ELIZABETH'S TOP 5 ALCOHOLIC DRINKS OF 2010
1. Black Russian.
2. Sea Breeze.
3. Long Island Ice Tea.
4. Sex on the Beach. (This is particularly good if consumed before having sex on the beach. Go figure.)
5. Tequila Sunrise.

And now, a Tequila Sunrise recipe. It's not a traditional recipe...but I like it!

1 Pour 3 oz of tequila into a glass.
2. Fill the rest of the glass with chilled orange juice.
3. Add 1 oz of grenadine to the center of the drink.
4. Use an orange wheel garnish.
5. Serve and enjoy.

First Week = Over

So my first week of class is over. (I don't have class on Fridays) I just have one day of work and then it's the weekend! Woohoo!

How did I feel about the first week? Well, in short, I enjoyed it a lot! I'm taking four classes, and I enjoy them. My Political Science class is really hard though. Although we've only had two days of lecture, my professor has already assigned about 50 pages of reading and a 10 page paper. Ah!

Looks like I'll be having a fun weekend. /sarcasm.

Oh well. I am sure I'll find some free time. Maybe I can do some kinda-naked wrestling.

Back to School

I started a new batch of classes today! Winter quarter here I come! It was a lot of fun, actually. It's nice to be back. I have four Psy. classes this quarter. My professors are all very interesting. Once I get settled in, I'll do another book review.

On a different note, lunch with the hippie went extraordinarily well. We went to a vegan restaurant and had tofu burgers. I'll definitely be seeing him again soon.

Hope everyone's break was as good as mine!

A Hippie Phones

So the hippie in the previous post...well, he called me. I guess I didn't mention that I gave him my number. We're going to hang out Sunday afternoon. It should be fun. I need something to cheer me up. I've been thinking about graduating, and it has been making me feel blue.

Roses are red
Liz is so blue

Yeah, poetry. Deal with it.
